3191

This is just about the coolest blog around:

http://3191.visualblogging.com/

Two photographer friends separated by 3191 miles exchange a daily image, creating a visual diary of simple pleasures.

The images are beautiful. They inspire me in such a way that even the ginger snaps I'm munching on this morning feel different, taste different, smell different. (And ginger snaps are pretty great to begin with.) Ahhhh, life is good.

Welcome, 3191. I want to visit you every day. You now have permanent residence amongst the blogging crew.

Falling in

"Listen, are you breathing just a little and calling it a life?
For how long will you continue to listen to those dark shouters,
Caution and Prudence?
Fall in! Fall in!"

- Mary Oliver

This quote speaks perfectly to the transformation I've been experiencing in my life these last two years. Caution and Prudence do still sneak in from time to time, but they have so much less a hold on me than they did. I have been feeling myself falling falling falling, over and over again, and for once I love it. I welcome it. I'm giving it a name and calling it home.

Does this speak to you too?

Parking lot dance

I love this photo. I stumbled on it while scanning this month's newsletter from The Simple Living Network. You can read the brief article here.

I love their form, their balance, the embrace of their arms. I love that they dance outside, in the open morning air where it has freshly rained, sharing their dance with all the wide wide world.
